Jimmy Lee and the S O C Band Members
|
Here is a glimpse why this band is unique. Meet the individuals that comprise the whole and you begin to realize what makes the band a success. The band has grown into a Central South Dakota "supergroup" with Jim picking up some of the best musicians to come from this area, as well as one that literally fell into his lap from 2000 miles away. The talent in the band is outstanding, and the mixture of diverse backrounds blends into the whole that makes Jimmy Lee and The S.O.C. extra special indeed....

Jim Isburg
|
Jim is the leader of Jimmy Lee and the SOC. With the band since it began in 1990, he has been the lead vocalist and guitar player since day one. In the present lineup he has expanded his versatility by playing bass guitar as well when Monte and he swap roles mid-show. Jim has recently made several trips to Nashville, recording over a dozen songs there he wrote over the past year. He has released two songs overseas and charted in their top ten with both. He has also done some co-writing with Curtis Stone of Highway 101 and other Nashville writers and is establishing himself as a respected writer in addition to his many other talents with the band. His unique personality has drawn some of the best musicians around to join with him and has kept the band climbing to higher and higher levels of success. His level of dedication keeps the band focused and the show fresh and fun for all. The entire group revolves around his unique leadership and would follow him through hell on horseback if he said the word.

Neil Anthony
|
A native of Fort Meyers, Florida, Neil found his way to South Dakota by way of Arizona and joined the group in 1998. He had just moved up here and saw the band playing locally, and when the drummer departed he quickly stepped in and became THE drummer for Midnite Hiway. Affectionately known as the World's Loudest Drummer to the rest of the band, he is also quite possibly one of the worlds BEST drummers as well. Neil is a natural percussionist, honed by years of playing professionally while growing up in Florida. His personal style and talent have brought the band to the next level, and he has recorded with many area groups in his off time. Everybody wishes they could lure him away, but Jimmy Lee and the SOC is his dedication and passion, and it shows in every performance.

Monte Knippling
|
After a few years of talking about it, Monte came onboard early in 2003 and quickly molded into the band's vibe. The group had always been a four piece, but had been working without a bass player for almost a year after their old bass player left to run the family farm full-time. Monte was working in many of the same clubs as Jimmy and the breakup of his former group Ravensmoon early in 2003 made it the thing to do. Adding his strong backround in classic rock and ability to play guitar or bass equally well brought a new flavor to the group. His vocal abilities complimented Jimmy's vocal talents and added a new dimension to the groups sound. Monte broadened the band's already strong diversity to an even wider range and is part of Jimmy Lee and the SOC's present success. The band is now like a family, a tight-knit group destined for bigger and better things.

No Matter How You Stack It...

It doesn't matter who plays what, Monte and Jim are both equally talented on either instrument.

...Its One Heck Of A Show.

...What doesn't change is the quality of the performance.
